CONSTRUCTION NAIL

CONSTRUCTION NAIL

The cold drawn wire is taken from a coil and fed to the nail making machine, where it is held by a pair of clamp dies. The shape of the head of the nail is embroidered on the end of the molds. When the molds snap the wire into place, the free end of the wire is hit by a mechanical hammer. This deforms the end of the wire into the mold cavity to form the head of the nail. After the wire is clamped in the molds, a number of shaped cutters strike the opposite end of the nail, forming the point and cutting the nail from the rest of the wire. The molds are opened and a protruding mechanism sends the nail to a collection container under the machine. The free end of the wire is pulled from the coil and re-enters the machine. Then the cycle starts again. Thus, construction nails in desired dimensions are obtained.
